    Photoshop to Dreamweaver

Ok, I have little experience with photoshop so I'm ask you all this. I just made my template with Photoshop and I want to edit with dream weaver (add links, etc.) BUT when I try to edit with dream weaver it doesn't show the image. It has a pic in the middle with a ripped pic. How do I edit with dream weaver? Do I have to change the file to html?

    THANKS!

Photshop and Dreamweaver have two very differnt purposes. Photoshop should be used to lay everything out (like you have with your template) and also to slice the images up that you need. Then you start your layout in dreamweaver and add each image (slice) where it should go. Photoshop does have an export Slices to HTML function but it is very messy and creates a bloated site even if you know what you're doing.

You need to slice your photoshop file into individual images and save those as JPEG, GIF, or PNG files. Then take those files into Dreamweaver and lay them out as you want them to look to the user. Recent versions of Photoshop have functions to automatically slice your images (and create the HTML layout, as tank mentioned), although I prefer to do it the "old school" way of selecting sections, copying them into new images (use Shift-Control-C on PC or Shift-Command-C on Apple to copy everything in the selection instead of the current layer only), and then saving those. I also use the "Save for Web" feature instead of the traditional "Save As," as I find that it optimizes things better.

Hope that is the answer you're looking for.

that is because you were told, time and time again, how to get the information you need.

and you then continue to ask the same questions,

Just like in this thread, your question was awnsered.

if you dont know how to use Dreamweaver, or Photoshop, Search for "dreamweaver help" at www.google.com. there are countless tutorials on the internet that tells you everything you want to know.

I understand you new to Web design, and you need help, that is fine. but most people try and find the solutions on their own, i.e google searching, before asking a question.

Also you may want to search out "HTML Basics" or get a Few books on HTML and learn about the basics of web design, same with graphics.

    I recommend Oreilly Publishing --- http://www.oreilly.com/

Other than that, I see no reason.
