Question Which plan would work with our vBulletin board?

I'm an admin at a website where our primary application is a vBulletin board. We have:

Although, we usually have under 60 concurrent users on at a time, sometimes we have a hundred or more on at the same time. Which of your hosting plans would you recommend?

Would that plan fit in a budget under thirty U.S. dollars? Under $40?

(We may or may not, (haven't decided yet), want to set up a chat room application.)

Semi Dedicated (SDX) would probably be a good fit.

    It's only $29.95/mo. (a nickel under budget)...

Our current host uses cPanel. Does that plan have cPanel or is "JaguarPc's Custom control Panel" a proprietary CP?

It's just regular ol' cPanel. Well, sort of...

JaguarPC uses their own skin, but it has the same cPanel functionality.

All my SquirrelMail plugins work with it, like the 'password changer', and so forth, so if you're used to using cPanel, while it might look a little different than at your current web host, all the features are there.

Thank you, Vin DSL, for answering my questions. If I think up a few more, I'll post 'em here.

I just want to add, you need to read the AUP before setting up a chat server to make sure it is allowed, IRC and the like are not. I think they do allow php/mysql based chats though...

It comes with a Java chatroom...

I use an AJAX chatroom. That's easy on resources too!

Anyway, I don't see chatrooms being an issue, unless he wants to use an IRC based chat, as you said.

I use vbulletin on the vps (the second one with 256mb) with 28k posts, 3k members, 3k threads, and 60-100 users simultaneously, including the vbplaza and arcade mods (very popular!). I haven't noticed any problems or slowdowns of any kind yet... and its ~$42.95 with cpanel/whm/fantastico.
