Exclamation Support Ticket Piping + 700 Spam Emails!

    Hey,

Question to those who use support ticket systems.

Ive got the following emails setup to autopipe to my ticket desk.

    support/sales/abuse/network/billing/@domain.com

Each email sent, creates a ticket...and replies back hey your msg has been received etc etc...just like hz/rz does it..

Now the real question is I have been receiving spam, hundreds of then to each email address and each one creates a support ticket and replies back and creates another ticket then postmaster replies with invalid email which creates another ticket..

You see where Im getting at? Each one creates a loop, I checked today, 789 tickets opened..

I set SPAM ASSASIN to 8, very agressive and whitelisted and blacklisted domains...What can I Do?

    Are these possible?
    -Delete the SPAM FOLDER
-Turn off SPAMBOX so they automatically delete
    (server makrs ****SPAM****(SUBJECT HERE)

I dont know what to do, any advice would be nice

    Thanks guys!

Sounds like it's a bad helpdesk if you ask me. Why is it creating new tickets instead of posting those bounces in the same ticket?

    Thumbs down

I actually use WHMCS...we love it, it beats MB/CE and other scripts...

So SPAM [email protected] sends an email to [email protected].

    Ticket is opened.
Email sent to jack saying ticket is opened.
Since JACK is spoof, act does not exist, postmaster relpies back invalid address...
since its coming back from a diff email, a new ticket is created...

I have saved the tickets created in my TRASH BIN, your welcomed to log into my account and check it out.

I just want to stop receiving the spam, is there a way we can make it just delete itself, im sick of 700 tickets per day

SpamAssassin default is 5 and if you want to make it more aggressive, you would lower that value. 4 or 3.5 would find more spam.

I believe you can set SpamAssassin through cPanel to automatically delete spam, but I have not used it, nor I think it's wise

I understand but I still think the bounce back should be in the same ticket. That's what the ticket ID is for so that it can locate the original ticket and add to it there instead of creating a new ticket. Unless of course you don't include some type of ID in your tickets.

Doesn't that script have a built in spam block or filter? If it did you can probably set a rule in your helpdesk to filter/auto delete tickets marked as spam or redirected to another spam queue for checking later.

You can install that on a VPS but unfortunately not on a shared server.
