    Im making a site for my *rental* moms art gallery (www.kathymorrowstudio.com) the domain name is registerd at yahoo.
    The problem is, when www.kathymorrowstudio.com loads it changes the URL to the IP address (http://*lot.sa.num.ber.s*). what do I need to do in order to have it stay as www.kathymorrowstudio.com ?

    Okay, that has to be pretty annoying. It must have something to do with the settings your domain is on, maybe you'd be better off changing hosts if you can't fix it.

    I don't know much 'bout it either, sorry

    It looks like you have used your registrar to point your domain to your IP address, instead of changing the Nameservers to NS1.ALETIA.COM and NS2.ALETIA.COM.

    If you do that, it should work.

    <!-- MOD NOTE:
    Corrected the nameservers -->

    Name Server.......... ns8.san.yahoo.com
    Name Server.......... ns9.san.yahoo.com
    You need to get into OPtions under your Yahoo domain control and change that to :

    NS1.ALETIA.COM
    NS2.ALETIA.COM

    ... and make sure that domain is parked. Go to your Aletia control panel and park the domain after you change the nameservers at Yahoo.

    You rent your mom?

    I'm sorry, as I said I couldn't resist. Just ignore me, I have nothing to contribute...

    What about URL forwarding. I currently have a domain registered with stargate and I have URL Forwarding to http://www.maindomain/dir, using URL Frame and when you type www.newdomain.com it goes to http://www.maindomain/dir but show in the URL bar www.newdomain.com .

    Check and see if Yahoo will allow forwarding.

    Yes, Yahoo has forwarding, so that is also a solution.
