    Hey, thanks! You are right.

I'm quite certain that wasn't there yet when I signed up. I guess it has been included with a recent update of the CPanel.

Good to know. Personally I was still using the tool in PHPMyAdmin, waiting for that to fail as my dBases kept growing.

If you have ssh access you can do it via command line also,

    mysqldump --opt --user=DBUSER_NAME --password=DB_PASSWORD DB_Name > /home/YOURHOME/FILENAME.sql

    All one line of course.

Aha, don't do it that way. O_o

    mysqldump --opt -uUSERNAME -p dbname > /home/usrname/file.sql

This way, you're not displaying your password in plain text (ie --password=DB_PASSWORD ). It's also easier to type -u and -p instead of --user and --password.

    `JailShell` Instead of `Bash`?

Photon is showing `jailshell` instead of `bash` in shell now. I'm not very aquainted with what these mean, but I'm curious as to what the change is...

More secure, users cant go browsing around the server now. Like ftp, your restricted to your own home directory.

While I can certainly understand why this change was made, it was kind of nice to be able to see the server's error logs.

When I was being told that there was nothing wrong with my server, I was able to show in the error logs that http was flapping and you guys were able to fix the problem.

Oh well, I guess a lot of things (security wise) have changed since 09/11/01 and this is just another example.

I am all for more security, However, it would have been nice to know that this was going to happen and some explaination.

Thanks Jaq and staff for making things better.

Question for people like me that know very little about jailshell.

What are the major diffs between jailshell and bash in regards to what we can do?

I.E. my .profile does not work how can I create alias's?

Whatelse can we expect to be different?

Thank again for the great work!!!!

Is there anyway to get straight to my home directory, instead of / ? I mean, when I login, I'm located at / instead of /home/myaccount
