    E-mailing w/o revealing address

    Does anyone know of or can anyone think of a way to send an e-mail in a Perl script without revealing the e-mail address in the source or by any other means?

    I have a listing of people with their e-mail addresses in a MySQL database. I don't want those e-mails to be revealed, but want to be able to let a user send an e-mail (preferably with sendmail) online without any way of that user finding out what the e-mail address is.

    Thanks

    Add an auto increminting key field in your database so that each record will have a unique identifier. The, in your form, use something like

    <input type="hidden" name="recipient" value="12345">

    When the form is submitted, have your script look up the address for record 12345 and send the messge to it.

    This is essentially what's done here on the boards when you click on an email link in someone's profile. The user's email address isn't revealed to the person sending the message.
